The Restoration

The restoration started back in 1996 - 6 months after I bought the car.
It all started with a chromed air cleaner which I liked so much that I wanted to chrome- and goldplate more and more parts in the engine...
To be able to reach all the parts I soon needed a professional mechanic for helping me. My homeboys Gerald and Richard knew of a good shop which I visited.
Rudi - the owner of the shop liked my ideas and helped me a lot. So we started to disassemble the car piece by piece. We liked it that much that it took 5 years before my car would leave this garage again.
Unfortunately we did not take too many pictures of the restoration....

The following things were done:

◦ Body:

  • complete disassembly of the car. Some parts were sandblasted all others sanded down to bare metal. New coat of primer and 2 layers of special show paint which looks different from any angle you watch the car, followed by 7 coats of clear paint. Complete rustproofing of the car.
  • Front suspension:

    all parts got new paintjob. goldplated centerbar, with chrome- and golplated bolts and nuts. All rubberparts and stabilizers are performance parts.
  • complete new brake system. chomed brake lines with gold fittings, performance brake pads. everything is 24k gold plated.
  • Rear supension:

    everything new. Air filled rear shocks - riding heigt adjustable, shorter perfomance coil springs - chrome - gold swaybar. Every bolt, nut or fastener in chrome or gold.
  • Exhaust system:

    complete-new-custom-performance-hand-made-dual-exhaust system with Edelbrock components.
  • Engine:

    complete removal of the V8-6-4 System. Tune up to about 290HP. ALL parts new and chrome- or goldplated.


Everything on this car was out of it and is brand new . A true nut and bolt restoration!
